Microchip Your Pet with Us
Don’t put your family’s cherished companion at risk. There is nationwide network out there that can help return your lost pet.
One of the saddest things to see is a lost dog or cat sign on a telephone pole. We know how terrible the owner must feel! Each year 6 to 8 million domestic pets wind up in shelters and the reconnection rates are only 2% for cats and 15-30% for dogs.
Collar IDs are not enough. They can break and indoor pets who get outside often don’t have a collar in the first place.
We believe microchipping is a vital necessity for every pet. It’s easy, inexpensive, and it works because there is a wide network of scanners available. It takes about two seconds to inject a chip the size of a grain of rice into the scruff of your pet’s neck. They don’t ever feel it and it stays in place for a lifetime. The microchip materials are used extensively for implants in both humans and animals with very safe results. This microchip can be read by a radio frequency scanner that is passed over the the pet to obtain a unique code. This code is filed in the microchip registry where the owner’s name and address is linked to the code. Most animal shelters and veterinary hospitals in the U.S. have scanners that read these microchips.
The microchip is a passive device. Your pet is not bothered by any electronic activity. There is none. It’s as if it didn’t exist.
The microchip is so well known these days that if your lost pet is picked up, most people know to have it checked. Also, most veterinarians routinely check to see if a new pet is microchipped.
